Cabinet Leiwen

The Leiwen nightstand is a functional storage space with an aesthetic design. Its appearance embodies the solidity and naturalness of wooden surfaces. Their symmetry creates stability, while certain angles show the deceptive illusion of levitation. The composition of the Leiwen construction elements is folded in the manner of Chinese characters. This is echoed by the accent facade made of metal sheet, folded with a harmonica. Exploring the art of the Stone Age, we interpreted the ornament of Ancient China "thunder patterns" (lei wen), creating a series of parallel folds. This pleating gives the cabinet visual texture and stability. However, its main purpose remained the same as the people who painted Neolithic ceramics three thousand years ago - out of a desire to decorate surfaces by surrounding themselves with beautiful things.
